So work is amazing! I love the kids, they are SUPER sweet! I have slipped into the groove quickly which I am glad. I do have a problem class. First time students but luckily the directors already knew about this class and have BEEN super helpful in managing them. We have had two field trips and they are SO bad but then again I absolutely love them so what can I do?
Outside of work things have been NON-STOP! I go out like three to four days of out the week. So much to do JUST in my city which is small. I cannot imagine once I start doing things OUTSIDE my city.
I joined a language exchange group, which has been a lot of fun and I have met some great people. My Korean is starting to improve listening wise. I am understanding bits and pieces now but speaking is still a process. It really just knowing how to use certain words. There are a lot of rules with grammar here.
I have also lost weight. None of my clothes fit right and the clothes that were a little tight now fit perfect or a tad bit loose. A lot of walking and moving around will do that. However, I have been EATING a lot more, you would think that would counter act it but nope. So I need new clothes lol.
Which talking about clothes, NOT cheap! They prices are like going to any store in the states that isn't an outlet. I miss outlets. You can find some nice clothes for a good - ok price but you have to REALLY look. Also sometimes you just have to say screw it and buy what you like.
I shop at bealls outlet, kolh's sales racks, ross, etc so I am use to paying $10-13 for a shirt so when I see $20-40 that is a little painful. T-shirts are well priced here, $7-10 but I am trying to stay away from t-shirts. I wore too many in the states and wanted to up my look some in Korea because style is a huge deal here and I wanted a new look. So I will be buying clothes slowly lol or just going all in every once in a while (like every four or five months lol).
I have NOT been able to get tickets for Xiah Junsu's Death Note....I am super annoyed. I was going to buy a weekday ticket because I get off early on Tuesday and Thursday but I don't have enough time to get to Seoul from Jeonju. So going to keep checking for Saturday tickets and try to buy a ticket during the next ticket sale for July tickets. WISH ME LUCK!
I did buy his new Flower album. I will post some pictures of it in a bit. I am currently listening to it. :p
Oh, so Teacher's Day is a big deal here. I received some expensive and beautiful gifts. I was super shocked! I was like 'we can really accept these?'. Apparently that is normal here. I was like 'ya, in the states that would be called a bribe!'
I received a coco chanel lipstick, a swaroski crystal pen, Su-Mi water-gel mist (like three bottles!), $50 gift certificate for Lotte Department store...just to mention a few.
Children's Day was SO MUCH FUN! We had a party day. My 'party room' was a Hawaiian limbo party! The kids LOVED it and the Korean teachers were impressed by my decorations. I had a lot of fun that day!
So, there is a place in Jeonju called Hanok Village. It is a section of the town that is historical. It is a lot of fun. Very busy and very beautiful. There is also a mountain to climb near by but I haven't gone yet.
Anyways I will get some pictures posted up for my readers to see!
